I have a Facebook account, a webcomic, a Twitter account and this blog. All these things demand a certain amount of presence and attention. In addition to this, I am trying to maintain a presence on two different forums and occasionally make appearances on a podcast. I work long night shifts on a 3-day rotation.

Also, I have a wife and kid.

Things I have noticed or thought about lately:

- A lot of people who I used to know are having pretty good lives. Many are married. Facebook lets me stalk them.

- In the game Dragon Age, it is possible in one playfile to have sex with three of the four possible romantic interests in your adventuring party. Also one random elf in the forest, and I dunno who else. It is not possible to achieve all four as Morrigan and Alistair are both straight. It is not possible to juggle three relationships because Leliana is nosy. It is, however, entirely possible to sleep with and be basically engaged with Alistair while secretly having copious amounts of sex with Zevran – AKA the bisexual elf with the leather fetish.

Wanna see something funny? Search twitter for “#christmas is #pagan”. go ahead, I’ll wait.
Neat huh? It’s almost a meme. And yes, you learn a lot about the roots of certain traditions. But you also learn a lot about self-righteous pagans who love pissing off Christians for no good reason.

Central to the beliefs of the Kemetic, or ancient Egyptian, people was the concept of Ma’at. Ma’at is a difficult word to translate, but it is usually literally termed as “balance.” Ma’at is the principle that stability and truth are to be preserved, and was the guiding force behind Kemetic law. It was the belief that a person should contribute to the world around him, rather than exploiting it purely for his own benefit. And it is a principle which still applies today.

Ma’at was also a sexy Goddess, as evidenced below.

It’s pretty obvious who I am. I’ve spent the better part of two years consolidating my online presence. I use basically the same screen name everywhere, and I post my real name where appropriate. I have a consistent identity on the internet. Why don’t you?

When I come home from work he’s sitting at the door, screaming for food.

When I’m on my day off, he comes and wakes me up, earlier every day, wanting to be fed. I got up at 4am today. I refused to give him anything before 7.

He even punched me in the face once. No, really. Knocked my glasses clean off.

My mother-in-law gave us $100 USD for xmas. With this money, I went to the mall yesterday and bought Wii Fit Plus. And actually, I’m glad I did.

A guy I used o work with handed me a CD months ago. It was labeled “Repo! Genetic Opera“. He told me I could keep it, that it featured Anthony Head and Sarah Brightman, and that he hated it. I took it home and forgot about it, until my wife was looking at Tony Head’s IMDB and my eye caught it in the list. So that night I dusted off the disc, copied the movie to my PC, and suggested we “just watch the beginning.” Two hours later we finally went to bed.

It’s not part of my style. It’s a compulsion. I hide it very well, but I am a lifetime sufferer of a rare genetic disorder. I have Tourette’s Syndrome. More »
